Emmanuel graduated from the University of Melbourne with an Associate Diploma in Science, a Bachelor of Education majoring in Psychology and a Graduate Diploma in Clinical Hypnosis. He is fully registered with the Victorian Psychologist Registration Board.

Emmanuel Boultadakis is a psychologist with 14 years professional experience and is based at his private practice ‘Positive Self’ located in Preston. He also practices at a General Practitioner’s practice situated in Hawthorn and at University Hill, Mill Park. He uses a variety of techniques designed especially for each individual. Techniques may include relaxation, hypnosis, thought field therapy, eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing, role-playing, visualisations and developing inner awareness. He has experience helping with depression, phobias, anxiety, self-esteem, couples counselling, parenting and abuse to name a few.

 

For the last four years Emmanuel is concurrently employed by the Children’s Protection Society (CPS) were his portfolio involves working with men through counselling, groups and community development. His primary responsibility is to develop and implement the ‘I’m a Dad’ program, which is the first of its kind across the country. The primary objective of the program is to engage fathers with their newborn babies as early as possible. The program has been well received by first time fathers in the community and received praise and attention from various community services and health professional’s interstate.

 

Prior to working for CPS, Emmanuel worked for the Australian Greek Welfare Society for seven years in the Men and Family Relationships Program as a Psychologist. This involved counselling men individually, in groups, as well as telephone counselling. The primary focus aimed to meet the needs of Greek men in a multicultural society through conducting regular information and education sessions.

 

He has also worked as a psychologist at Multilingual Psychologist Services and St Vincent’s Hospital. In addition, Emmanuel was involved in providing psychological services over the telephone, which was broadcasted on 3XY during a regular talkback radio program. Emmanuel has also volunteered his services at the Bundoora Extended Care Centre. Through the positions he has held and the studies he has completed, Emmanuel has gained extensive experience within the mental health field.
